一、Container Export Business

        The container export transportation agent service is similar with the traditional liner shipping cargo service, the difference is the addition of empty/loaded equipment released/accepted and etc. which changed the way of container cargo delivery, making and applying relevant documents. The mainly business of container export transportation includes: 

       

 
1.Canvass and commission   
        Before cargo commission, according to the trade provisions of contracts or letters of credit, shipper should fill in container booking note or entrust freight agent. Once the offer was confirmed by written, the contract was set up. Therefore, the letter of authorization should have the seals or signature of entrust party.    
        2.Booking
        Freight forwarders fill in the container order (Receipts), booking with shipping company or its agent and to get confirmation.
        Once shipping companies or their agents accept the booking , they sign on shipping order (copy of the receipt) to indicate that the delivery of cargo "commitment" and fill in ships name, voyage number, bill of lading number, then with the copy of shipping agent and freight shipping notices (a), (b) triple in total; if there is only ship agent’s order to be preserved, then return all other orders to the freight forwarder as the booking confirmation, to prepare Customs declaration; The shipping company or its agent is committed to cargo delivery. According to cargo list, the containers will be delivered to container yard or container loading and unloading areas to assure the release/storage of equipment.   
        3.Empty equipment pickup   
        After acceptance of cargo booking, shipping company or its agent then issue equipment dispatch order with EIR to pickup empty equipment. Regardless of which party is to pickup empty containers, the equipments exchange order should be ready in advance. The equipment dispatch order should be submitted and sign on EIR when pickup the equipments.   
        4.Inspection, Customs clearance    
        4.1 Inspection   
        According to relevant nation laws and regulations and in accordance with cargo’s features, Shipper or freight forwarders should complete declaration form. For the consignments of dangerous cargo (DG), the list of DG, DG specifications, DG packing certificate, DG packing specifications and other documents are required.   
        4.2 Customs clearance   
        According to relevant national laws and regulations, for the customs clearance, shipper or freight forwarder should hold customs clearance form, receipts, invoices, packing list, certificates of origin and other relevant documents. In according with the mode of trade and regulars, if necessary, the export licenses, custom book and other documents are required.
        5.Packing

        According to shipping schedules and shipment order, the port send the shipment advice to carrier or its agent. After receiving the shipment advice, shipper or its agent should transport cargoes in CY or designated cargo terminal 5 days before loading order.    
        7.B/L exchange   
        The packing order should be kept for settlement and inquiries. Tally personnel send mate’s receipt to chief officer. After receiving the receipt, the freight forwarder should pay the freight and exchange B/L. The shipping company need also confirm whether there has endorsement and then sign on the B/L.            

        Container B/L is slightly different with the traditional B/L which should make notes of the place of receipt, place of delivery, container number and seal number. As container transport is generally not alongside the vessel once cargo delivery, the receipts are exchanged for received B/L. According to "Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits", except as otherwise provided in the letter of credit, for received B/L bank can accept. Therefore, it is common for container B/L, in addition to the front note that "Received in apparent good order and condition ... ...", there must have "Laden on Board the Vessel" at the bottom.
